Las Vegas Information travel, and about our city.
Here's some things you need to know. Living in Las Vegas is unlike living anywhere else in the world. Visiting and traveling here can prepare you for all the great benefits we receive by living here. First, we are a 24 hour town. Unlike much of the rest of the world at any time of the day or night you can find something to do, or get freshly cooked meals.
Every Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is open 24 hours. Some restaurants close down for the night, but you can find 24 hour coffee shops by the thousands. Most dance night clubs go off until the wee hours of the morning, and alcohol is served 24/7. The good news is you enjoy a more quite type of lifestyle is most of that stuff happens on the strip and inside the casinos. Las Vegas enjoys many quite neighborhoods and communities, but with the benefit of a short drive to get a hot meal at any time of the night.
We enjoy absolutely great weather during the spring and fall months, very hot summers, and mild winters. We live in a very dry desert type of climate, so be sure to pack your sun screen, lotion, and bottles of water when you arrive. Our summers are really only hot from June to August, and it is a very dry heat, and not as humid as places like California or tropical climates. You will want air conditioning in both your car and house, and access to a swimming pool.
During the spring and fall the weather is gorgeous, mild and in the 70's. During the winter we do have some cold and below freezing days so don't believe you will survive out here without a jacket, although it's no where near as bad as in the northern parts of the country.
Our valley which is surrounded by mountains, is made up of three major cities. Las Vegas, Henderson, and North Las Vegas, which are all directly connected to each other and you wouldn't know if you crossed into one or the other unless you lived here.
